SATURDAY BLUES

Still reeling from yesterday's news, the day was unpleasant to say the least. I wondered if I simply should have agreed to start on Monday and continued to look for somewhere to leave my children on the two Eve days. But it was too late now.

The highlight of my day was when my children called me on Skype this morning. Saffron was making lemonade for breakfast along with her younger stepbrother. They had set the table with muffins and cookies they bought at Winter Wonderland at school last night and were ready for a big family breakfast.

When they were saying goodbye, Sage wanted to show me their Christmas tree standing in the corner. It was still bound and I am sure they were going to enjoy decorating it later in the day. As for the tree at my place, I have yet to buy one but will wait a bit longer. The Christmas spirit is somehow absent this year.
