SOULLESS DWELLINGS

The rooms are bare. Devoid of furniture. Lacking in everything which defines a home.

The walls are painted a dull white. Streaks of uneven brush strokes visible as the sun pours in through the large living room windows looking out onto the south-facing balcony.

My dwellings of the past two years have exhibited the indifference of existence. A lack of liveliness. Soulless dwellings.

But this new place which we now call 'ours' is ready to be filled with life. With laughter. With love. A chance for change. A longing for something different. Something with meaning.

As time moves on we look forward to the day when the rooms are no longer bare. When the walls are lined with our family's photographs. When our love turns a soulless dwelling into one brimming with life.
