COFFEE AND A HAIRCUT
There were only two main agendas for today. Getting a much-needed haircut for my son and having coffee at the new location of the place we went to a few times last year.
We left our place shortly before 10,00, going first to get petrol at Costco. At $3.49 per gallon, the prices are still high but have gone down a bit since the start of the war in Ukraine.
At the barber shop, we waited an hour for my son’s turn in the chair. He decided on a shorter style than the last few times which turned out quite nice. It’s interesting to see how much a haircut can change someone. My son looked happier in his ‘after’ photo. Self-care is something we should all make a priority on an ongoing basis.
Afterwards, we drove all the way to Bee Cave for coffee and treats. The new place for Luna seemed larger and had outdoor seating which we chose today as it was a nice warm afternoon. We both drank cappuccinos. For the treats, my son ate his usual cinnamon sugar cinnamon roll muffin whilst I chose my usual blueberry scone. We enjoyed the time we had together and realised we should spend more time out of our home, now that Covid appears to have subsided.
We then walked around the shopping area for a short while before stopping by Whole Foods, mainly for prosciutto and cake flour. For some strange reason we walked right past Barnes and Noble without going in. We then drove across the street to World Market, and then decided to go home.
The weekends are never long enough to get all the things done which we are unable to complete during the work week. A three-day weekend would be very beneficial and would allow the first day for grocery shopping and shopping in general. The second day would be an entire day of not having to drive anywhere. Rather we could choose to spend the day reading or baking or simply watching movies all day. The third weekend day would be spent out in nature so we are rejuvenated for the new week.
As for this weekend’s activities, coffee and a haircut were as much as we wanted to do on our Saturday. Tomorrow will be a day of going nowhere and simply relaxing. And perhaps baking a small lemon cake.
