ASSESSING THE POSSIBILITIES
When the path we are on becomes unclear, a sense of panic might set in as we are unable to see what lies before us. We then start to worry and wonder what step to take next. At times, those steps are random. Sporadic. Going forward at one moment, only to backtrack a few steps in the opposite direction. Other times, they are straightforward as we simply take a risk and hope it works out. In either case, it is important to start the process of assessing the possibilities.
We might ask others for advice. Hoping they can just tell us what to do. In effect, putting the blame on them if circumstances go awry and we end up in a worse situation than before. Sometimes the advice we get is simply people telling us what we want to hear. But if we come across someone who tells us we are wrong or should take a different path, we might not want to listen to them or carry out their advice.
Another option is to seek out the variety of information online as we conduct our own research. We might choose to consult articles or books to read on our own. We then figure out how to be our own sounding board as we hear the words we read out loud.
In every case we encounter, we are the ones responsible for our own lives. For coming up with solutions to the problems that life places on that unclear path. For knowing that sometimes we will make the wrong choices. But knowing that we need to take ownership of those choices and learn to accept them and learn from them.
There is nobody else who will come to your rescue as you stand on that unclear path. Nobody else to take upon themselves the responsibility and lessons learned. Only you can start the process by assessing the possibilities of various choices, carrying out those options, and accepting responsibility for your decisions.
