A SHORT VISIT

The long weekend came to an end, with the children going back to school. My son would have preferred to stay home for yet another day. But that was not an option today.

Shortly before noon, I got a text from my older daughter. She asked if I had bought the star cookies and let me know that she and her sister were ‘here’ for lunch. A friend of theirs was with them too, and they wanted to come over during their free period and lunchtime. They were at the apartment clubhouse and later showed up at my door.

The three girls came inside and sat at the table, enjoying the mini chocolate mint star cookies and the large Wheat Thin crackers with cheddar cheese. Afterwards, they went into my son’s room and watched something for the last 10 minutes of their break before leaving for school. Though it was only a short visit, I was really glad to see them.
